The Adventure Continues…

THE FISHING CAT

Another felid on the IUNC Red List of  Threatened Species is the Fishing Cat found in parts of southern India, Sri Lanka, the countries of  the southern Himalayas, Southeast Asia, China and Indonesia. The cat attracts fish by lightly tapping the water’s surface with its paw–which mimicks an insect’s movement–then dives into the water to catch the fish. This cat has partially webbed paws which it uses to scoop up fish, frogs and other prey.
